Foam Proportioner คืออุปกรณ์ที่มีหน้าที่ผสมน้ำยาโฟมเข้ากับน้ำดับเพลิงเพื่อสร้างสารละลายโฟมสำหรับส่งไปยังอุปกรณ์ฉีดดับเพลิงด้วยโฟม อุปกรณ์นี้ส่วนใหญ่จะอาศัยการไหลของน้ำดับเพลิงผ่านช่อง venturi ในการสร้างพื้นที่ที่มีความดันลบในตัวอุปกรณ์บริเวณท่อซึ่งต่อไปยังอุปกรณ์เก็บน้ำยาโฟม ซึ่งความดันลบนี้จะทำการดูดน้ำยาโฟมเข้ามาผสมกับน้ำดับเพลิงที่ไหลผ่านช่อง venturi ดังกล่าวในอัตราส่วนที่ควบคุมโดยแรงดันของน้ำดับเพลิงเอง ซึ่งขนาดของ Foam Proportioner นั้นจะต้องผ่านการคำนวณให้เหมาะสมกับอัตราการฉีดและแรงดันของน้ำดับเพลิงเป็นกรณีๆ ไป

Foam Proportioner is a device for mixing foam concentrate with fire water to become a foam solution before sending to the discharge devices. Generally, this device utilize a fire water flow through venturi orifice to induce a negative pressure area which will draw foam concentrate from the container into the stream in the desired ratio. The ratio is controlled by the flow rate and pressure of the water flowing through the device and hence must be calculated on case by case basis to get the desired mixing ratio.
