Water Mist System

ระบบดับเพลิงแบบหมอกนั้นอาจจะมองว่าเป็นพัฒนาการของระบบดับเพลิงอัตโนมัติแบบ Sprinkler อีกขั้นหนึ่งเนื่องจากมีหลักการทำงานเหมือนกันทุกประการ โดยมีข้อแตกต่างตรงการใช้เครื่องสูบน้ำที่มีแรงดันสูงกว่าระบบดับเพลิง Sprinkler ทั่วไปและหัวฉีดที่ออกแบบมาเป็นพิเศษทำให้ละอองน้ำที่ฉีดออกมามีขนาดเล็กมากเหมือนหมอก ซึ่งทำให้น้ำที่ฉีดออกมานั้นมีประสิทธิภาพในการดูดซับความร้อนจากไฟได้ดีกว่าน้ำหยดใหญ่ และการระเหยของน้ำจะไปสกัดกั้นออกซิเจนไม่ให้เข้าถึงเชื้อไฟ ทำให้สามารถดับเพลิงได้อย่างรวดเร็วและป้องกันการลุกติดไฟใหม่ นอกจากนี้ปริมาณน้ำที่ใช้ยังน้อยกว่าระบบดับเพลิง Sprinkler ทำให้ลดความเสียหายภายในพื้นที่เพลิงไหม้เนื่องจากน้ำอีกด้วย ซึ่งทาง Firetrade Engineering นั้นเป็นตัวแทนจำหน่ายระบบ Water Mist แรงดันสูงจากบริษัท Danfoss จากประเทศเดนมาร์ก

This type of automatic firefighting system can be seen as an evolution of the automatic Sprinkler System as they have the same operation principle. The difference is that Water Mist system used a higher pressure pump and specially designed sprinkler heads which forced the water into fine droplets or ‘mist’. This mist is more effective at absorbing heat from fire, and the resulting steam will block oxygen from the fire more effectively, resulted in quick extinguishment and prevent re-ignition. The Water Mist system also used less water than regular sprinkler system, resulting in less water damage.
